EcoVadis Seal
The EcoVadis Seal is a certification awarded to companies that stand out for their performance in sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
It is applicable to companies of all sizes and industrial sectors. Ecovadis evaluates companies from various sectors, including manufacturing, services, technology, food, fashion, among others.
It is one of the tools on which more and more multinationals rely to assess the sustainability of their suppliers, so getting certified on this platform is ideal for positioning yourself in front of companies looking for suppliers with a more consolidated CSR.
The seal is awarded by the independent organization Ecovadis is a sustainability rating and assessment platform that specializes in assessing the performance of companies in terms of sustainable practices, corporate social responsibility and business ethics.
It has a team of sustainability experts who analyze the answers provided by companies in its questionnaire, as well as additional information gathered from public sources, to assign scores and assess their performance in key areas.
Based on these analyses, Ecovadis awards the label to companies that meet the required standards in sustainability and social responsibility.
The EcoVadis methodology is aligned with other systems such as ISO 26001 or the principles of the Global Compact.
Aspects of the OSF company to be assessed
EcoVadis medals and badges recognise companies that have met the requirements and completed the assessment process and have demonstrated the existence of a sound management system that addresses sustainability criteria, in accordance with the EcoVadis methodology.
Some of the aspects considered in the assessment are:
- Environmental impact: How the company manages its natural resources, carbon footprint, use of renewable energy, waste management, among others, is assessed.
- Labour practices: How the company treats its employees, whether it promotes diversity and equal opportunities, whether it ensures safe and healthy working conditions, among other related aspects.
- Business ethics: This assesses whether the company has clear policies against corruption, bribery and fraud, as well as its commitment to transparency and integrity in its operations.
- Supply chain: This examines how the company manages its suppliers, whether it promotes sustainable practices throughout its supply chain and whether it fosters ethical relationships with its business partners.
Obtaining the Ecovadis label
To obtain the Ecovadis label, companies must follow these steps:
- Registration: The company interested in obtaining certification registers on the Ecovadis platform and completes a detailed questionnaire on its business practices in sustainability, social responsibility and ethics.
- Evaluation: Ecovadis evaluates the company's answers and collects additional information from public sources for a comprehensive assessment. Scores are assigned in different categories based on international sustainability standards.
- Results report: Once the assessment is completed, the company receives a detailed report with its scores in each area assessed, as well as comments and recommendations for improving its sustainability performance.
- Renewal and continuous improvement: The Ecovadis label is valid for one year, so companies must undergo regular assessments to maintain certification. In addition, companies are encouraged to continuously improve their sustainable practices.
